The 18th annual San Diego Latino Film Festival runs from March 10th – 20th, at the Ultrastar Mission Valley Cinema [7510 Hazard Center Road - (619) 574 8684]. As Steven Mihailovich of La Jolla Light Newspaper writes: “Aside from films produced in motion picture meccas such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and the U.S., (Lisa) Franek (of the Media Arts Center of San Diego) noted that this year’s festival includes films from smaller countries that don’t make many, such as Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama…The film festival is more than just movies, however. With an art show and large parties that include food, drink, music and dancing, the festival will offer total immersion into the Latino culture.”
Buy tickets online or at the theater.
REMEMBER: When you watch Latino films, you are telling the film market to demand them. Therefore, if you want to write, direct or produce Latino films, get out to the theatre and buy a ticket.
