The Latino Film Fund Fiscal Sponsorship Program is fast on its way to becoming the finest Fiscal Sponsorship Program in the world. We would like to share the basics of how the Latino Film Fund Fiscal Sponsorship program works, and how the program could assist you and your film’s team in the development and/or completion of your film project.
Who needs Fiscal Sponsorship?
The Fiscal Sponsorship Program (also known as “Applications for Grants with Provisions for Sources of Funding”) serves independent producers or filmmakers who are seeking funding for Latino-themed projects that represent the organization’s mission statement. Filmmakers can either be in development, production or the post-production stage. If there’s money to be raised, you can utilize the assistance of a Fiscal Sponsor.
What is Fiscal Sponsorship and how does it work?
The Latino Film Fund will review, select and consequently sponsor film projects, allowing them to apply to grant programs that stipulate in their funding guidelines that the recipient have nonprofit status under 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code. These “grant programs” can include, but are not limited to, corporate funds, non-profit grants, organizational grant programs, as well as individuals and other businesses.
In such cases, The Latino Film Fund can use its nonprofit status to receive and administer grants, gifts and donations that are made in the name of the project. Once the funds are received by the Latino Film Fund on behalf of the film project, the monies received will be provided to the film project via its team leader designated in the application.
What is the cost to the film project?
5% of all monies received on behalf of a film project will be provided to the LFF to cover program administration. Be informed that the Latino Film Fund is the lowest cost film Fiscal Sponsorship Program in the country.
**Please note that film projects are responsible for all PayPal fees associated with online donations.
What other services are offered in the Fiscal Sponsorship Program?
If requested, The Latino Film Fund can offer production support to participating film projects, which may include focused assistance in fundraising, production, creative development and more. Additionally, selected projects are given the opportunity to have a Fiscal Sponsorship Fundraising page, much like an IndieGoGo or KickStarter, but better. The Latino Film Fund has no minimums requirements or time limits on fundraising.
I want to participate! What next?
